Philips HTS6500 Home Theater System.

This is a HTIB, A 'home theater in a box'. Everything is included except a $49 HDMI cable. Sleek, modern, and compact, this HTIB has tons of features!

Most important are are DVD upscaling to 720P/1080i and a HDMI connection to your new HDTV.

These (2) features are not always available even on $500-$1000 systems. DVD movies look and sound awesome! The system is up todate with Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, and DTS surround decoding capabilities.

It has a AM-FM tuner, USB connection for JPEG pictures and reads CD's, USB, MP3's and more. The Multi Channel and Dolby 2.1 sound and volume is very very good but not great. The remote has an annoying delay and the standard TV input volume could be a bit louder. (Even after the firmware upgrade).

All in all for approx $300 it sounds very good, plays great and is easy to setup and use. If you have a limited budget, this Philips HTS-6500 is a must buy because it has the features you need and it sounds like a home theater should!

Great Unit purchased at Sears for $300, had to update the firmware to V46 as the unit was on V31, noticed some audio balancing when playing iPOD that were corrected after the upgrade. Like the flexibility and HDMI output to my HD capable LCD TV, also sounds are very good for the price and features and ease of use. Would prefer a better remote with backlighting, overall very satisfied with this product.
